Your Story...

i have shared my passion for the whispers of what once was

and the stories they tell...

i really am a shy soul, a girl who struggles putting her thoughts into words...

who struggles with the best way to make a connection for others with an object of old...

so often i search and ponder on ways to capture an objects beauty and whispers...

photography has given me a bridge to the obstacle...

not only does my photography tell the story, shows the raw beauty, but it enables me to be immersed in the moment...

it allows me to drag my feet against the tides of time and to be aware...

to stop for a moment, to wonder, and to focus not only my camera lens but my focus of being...

but let us not forget our own stories...

the stories we are creating and living each and every day...

give voice to your inner beauties, joys, struggles and dreams...

immerse yourself in your own story and share...

share through the silent, powerful {words} of photography...

stay-cation magic makeovers the final eDition

mouseover to see the before image

okay so i've been trying to get a few makeovers done this week....
but it was a little CRAZY... :)
in a good way.

so i thought i would share 2.

the above is from jenny of lila huset.
such a beautiful image!
here's a break down of my process.
first i did a curves adjustment to lighten the background.
i had the urge to B&W it.
i then used my 'black & white' texture.
one layer on mutiply and one layer on soft light.

then there was this image.... i instantly fell in love.
i oopsed on the photo credit.  i apologize.

this photo belongs to Piroseper.

i LOVE old keys.
and honestly it is pretty darn perfect just the way it is.

i love the desaturated colors.....
so, i added a couple of black & white gradient map layers
one on soft light and one on screen.
did a tiny levels adjustment
then added the 'black & white' texture on multiply.

thank you so much to all of you that submitted images into the challenge.
you ROCK. :)

Take a few minutes to go thru Hilde's stream.  it's truly mind blowing!

photoshop magic... continued.

i fell in love with this beautiful image that sherry submitted into the
magic challenge.

sigh

isn't it beautiful?

i just had to post sherry's story behind the image as well.
thank you so much sherry....

This old sailing vessel was in the harbour in Rostock, Germany this summer.
I was travelling in northern Europe and Scandinavia. As a sailing enthusiast I cannot resist taking pictures of beautiful old wooden boats. They have such stories in their hulls and in their holds. My husband and I did a two month cruise aboard our sailboat "Windsong" in the Florida Keys this winter. It was an unforgettable experience. I came back with thousands of photographs, many of sailboats, but none with quite the character of this old girl.

i posted the recipe over at the cafe, if you would like to check it out.
