Everyday Gifts {Courage}...

And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a
bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.

Nostalgia {Returning Home}

Paper Moons {Crooked Chimney}

Nostalgia {Yearning}

times have never been {simple}...

so to yearn for a {simpler} time can't be...

but we can be {nostalgic} for a time where we moved with presence...

where we lived artfully...

we can be {nostalgic} and fill our souls with sepia tones...

we can become cultivators of our own stories...

we can preserve the treasures of our times...

we can become intentional throughout our days...

we can give {simple} appreciation...

and be {nostalgic}...

Your Story...

i have shared my passion for the whispers of what once was

and the stories they tell...

i really am a shy soul, a girl who struggles putting her thoughts into words...

who struggles with the best way to make a connection for others with an object of old...

so often i search and ponder on ways to capture an objects beauty and whispers...

photography has given me a bridge to the obstacle...

not only does my photography tell the story, shows the raw beauty, but it enables me to be immersed in the moment...

it allows me to drag my feet against the tides of time and to be aware...

to stop for a moment, to wonder, and to focus not only my camera lens but my focus of being...

but let us not forget our own stories...

the stories we are creating and living each and every day...

give voice to your inner beauties, joys, struggles and dreams...

immerse yourself in your own story and share...

share through the silent, powerful {words} of photography...

Whispers..

i've often get asked why?

why do you gather and search for what once was...

why is there such a pull to the discarded...

each item i unearth holds a whisper...

a whisper of a life, of struggles, of beauty...

i can hold a piece that was once loved and cherished...

i am seeing with the eyes of old...

i am listening to a story that needs to be shared and not forgotten...

what whispers do you hear in {what once was} ?

Versatility...

this year one of my {prairie promises} to myself is to get organized...

i always tend to have piles everywhere i turn...

ugh...

the one thing i *love* about faded finds is their versatility...

old suitcases can be used to store magazines, quilts, or art supplies.

industrial metal bins can be up-cycled to catch all for your mail, altered art supplies, or laundry supplies...

one of my *favorite* storage solution would be metal lockers, they can hold up to anything my little prairie family throws at them, which is a huge must here on the farm...

what new, old, or unique way are you using faded finds to organize this year?

A Life...

i hope you all had such a wonderful christmas season!

ours was filled with much joy and happiness...

and also sorrow...

my husband.s grandfather.s health is failing...

and we spent the weekend gathered around sharing in his memories...

what an amazing life...

one filled with hard work, tears, joy, and extreme stubbornness ;0)

how quickly time passes...

how our heart.s ache with moments lost...

but how our heart.s are filled with deep love and respect...

as we begin a new year let us...

all strive to live a life realizing dreams...

a life of no regrets...

a life filled with family...

a life filled with love...
