Oh, my. Thank you for posting this. I had a Jewish patient years back who had escaped Germany right before all the Jews were taken captive. She was a dear to me. Alice is the epitome of inspiration isn't she?

I sat and listened to the entire thing in awe, this is what true inspiration is. How can you hear these stories and not wanting to live a fuller life. Absolutely beautiful. I love the section where they talk about how having a song in your head and heart can help you get through the most trying of circumstances because the music can take you away.

I wish Alice was my neighbor and love the way she says music is god.

Thank you for this post, so moving for me. My father was a POW of the Germans in a work camp for three years. He was taken prison when they turned on their allies the Italians. I think prisoners had to do whatever they could to mentally survive the horror. And for Alice, at 107, it would seem that music was the key :)
