Oh, my. Thank you for posting this. I had a Jewish patient years back who had escaped Germany right before all the Jews were taken captive. She was a dear to me. Alice is the epitome of inspiration isn't she?
I sat and listened to the entire thing in awe, this is what true inspiration is. How can you hear these stories and not wanting to live a fuller life. Absolutely beautiful. I love the section where they talk about how having a song in your head and heart can help you get through the most trying of circumstances because the music can take you away.
Absolutely beautiful. Happy 107th birthday Alice! Have a wonderful party! We all learn from what has happened to us and put it to use in our regular lifes. It does make us indeed way richer than others.
Thank you for this post, so moving for me. My father was a POW of the Germans in a work camp for three years. He was taken prison when they turned on their allies the Italians. I think prisoners had to do whatever they could to mentally survive the horror. And for Alice, at 107, it would seem that music was the key :) God bless her!
