Practicing Intention

We’ve already established that ‘practice’ in itself doesn’t make ‘perfect’..but it does make for proficient and strong and – yes - ‘practiced’.

There are many ways in which to start one’s day…many ways in which to find root and ground and begin again.

One very simple practice is that of setting intention. Decide what it is you want from the day…and practice that. <!--[if !supportLineBreakNewLine]-->

Set your intention..and the energy will follow.

If your intent is to be happy..then practice happiness.

If your intent is to be productive..then make a long list and get things done.

If your intent is to cultivate presence..then take a few moments to look and to see and to notice what it is that surrounds you. Accept and embrace it for what it is. Write it down. Color it in. Photograph it. Don’t let it pass you by.

If you begin each day with laughter and light and an internal belief that all is right with the world…it just may be that it is. Practice positivity.

If you begin each day believing that your cup is half empty…you’ll find that it’ll never be half full.

Practice the intention of positive thinking..of setting out to be just who you want to be on this day.

Tell me - what is it that you are practicing today?

Today I'm practicing smiling. I've noticed that when I smile, I feel better about most things. So, smile.

Love this post...unfortunately, today I have to practice productivity. I am gearing up for a show that starts tonight and have a long list of must dos. :(
However, I love how this post was presented, and will start next week with these key ideas. Thank you for sharing.

Hi! I am new to this blog, and I really. really. really like it!
I have been impressed lately to stop negative thoughts in their tracks and instead, focus on the beauty and wonder of what I am thinking negatively about, or grieving about what is not to be. What IS is important.
Thank you for this inspirational post.

Lovely post! I woke up today intending to enjoy time with friends and not stress too much. Glad to say I succeeded.

I love this post. It rings so true. I have worked at practicing positivity in the months since my divorce. And I am amazed at how it works. I truly believe what you put out into the universe, will return to you (and often multiplied). And it becomes easier and easier to practice this, until it simply becomes who you are, no practice necessary.

I am struggling with exactly this just now, every day I seem to intend one thing but end up with another...maybe I am not laying the groundwork properly. Or planning my intentions. I'm going to try this.
Thank you.

Lately my cup is more half empty than full, so I start from today to believe in myself and the challenges I face more thinking positive. Thank you for that huge reminder today.

today i intend to live in the moment
and give thanks for each moment ...
i have intentions of not letting myself down
by getting side-tracked ... to stay focussed
on the task at hand and feel jubilant with
each step taken ...
sigh.
thanks SO much, marcie ...
this is a post i would like to read
each night as i tuck in ...
to prepare to practice positive ... : )
