I don't call the Emerald City home anymore, but I did for a longtime, so this photo really takes me back to a place I loved.
Today I'm packing up my apartment in Lexington, my home for the past 9 months. The work project I've been here for will officially be wrapped up on Sunday; which leaves me a few days to finish packing and say my goodbyes before I leave next week to head home. With my pending homecoming all over my mind, I thought I'd ask you to help me put together a playlist to listen to when I head off to the airport on my journey home.
For as many years as musicians have been on the road, they've been writing songs about coming home. What are some of your favorites? What songs do you put on when you are dreaming of going back to that place where you feel safe and at peace? As usual, I'll get us going and then turn it over to you for your suggestions.

I can't wait to hear some of your suggestions - to be honest I had a hard time stopping and would have kept going if I hadn't been so excited about getting to the list we put together last week to celebrate the colors of autumn.
Last week's playlist is amazing, and is absolutely full of the vibrant colors and sounds of Fall. (A very special thanks to Prairie Girl who went above and beyond this week with a bunch of great suggestions.) I have a feeling we'll be listening to this one for the next several weeks as we watch the leaves turn and leave the trees.

Oh I love this post, have a great trip home. My suggestion has to be Michael Buble's "Home" one day my girls and I were driving round town shopping etc. for hours then this song came on the radio and we all hammed it up about just wanting to go home, get the dhopping done etc. Then when I was in Europe last year for Mother's Day the girls sent me a video of them in Germany, Munich sitting in a park, playing this song and singing along. Have a safe trip...you must be looking forward to being home again. The first song that comes to mind is..I'll be home for Christmas...guess it's too early to listen to that one! Will have to give it more thought!
