in the beginning ... far and near

• the quality of having been so stimulated, esp. when evident in something
• a person or thing that stimulates this way

• the divine influence believed to have led to the writing of the bible
2 the drawing in of breath; inhalation
• an act of breathing in; inhalation

i nearly fell over yesterday when i visited pve design and found her post, this

~ a can of inspiration {how completely cool is that!}

you see, pve was the one who inspired me to do my very first blog post ...

to put myself 'out there' ...

i am grateful for her inspiration ...

her gifts of art and goodness reach far.

tell me ...

who moved you?

what grooved you?

how were you stimulated so to be here?

...

close to home ...

my mom's daily determination inspires me.

she will be 82 this weekend ...

she is frail as can be and suffers from mild dementia ...

despite these conditions her determination to stay in her own home is strong ...

she has a proctor visiting her twice a week to play games and visit ...

to help stimulate her mind and interact in a way that inspires mom to keep 'breathing' : )

she asked me to find her old wooden box of dominoes ...

she can't remember if they are from her childhood ~ she supposes so ...

but she does remember playing them with her granddaughter ...

i wish i could have captured on camera the happiness in her face when
i found this treasured box, how she opened and touched them, how they were
a light of hope and inspiration to her ... : )

i am so grateful.

. . .

there are so many point of inspiration in our lives ... near and far ...

i would love to hear of yours ...

. . .

peace be with you and yours

today and all days

xo

What a touching post. I find inspiration in so many places, family, friends, loved ones, travel, nature, every day random things.

Inspiration is a beautiful thing.

Lovely post. I'm so happy that simple dominoes brought joy to your Mom. That is certainly a gift for both of you. My blogging and Etsy inspiration came from Leah from http://www.leahdaehling.com/ I stumbled across her work at our state fair and months later found her card in my purse and on it led...too long for here...but I started selling on Etsy and blogging because of her. My kids also inspire me. Of course everyone's do! But, specifically, I can see their actions, words, etc. aren't influenced by the lies and garbage that I bought into early in life. They have really helped me set myself straight and they have no idea. Someday, I'll be able to tell them when they are much older and they can understand.

I guess I found inspiration in my sister, but quickly we found ourselves in the midst of a group of women the blew our ideas of what we couldn't do right out the window. And so, we are now doing. And our inspiration lies in all of you.

I love the dominoes story. So sweet.

These days I see inspiration everywhere, because I need to...I desire to. It keeps me going. I-studio is a great place to get inspired. Thanks for the reminder, great post.

Who knew you could find inspiration in a can? I'm going to have to go out and get me some of that.

Your story about your mom was so beautiful and touching...our love of others is always a starting point for inspiration, and knowing someone with courage and determination like that.

Nature always inspires me, so much beauty, always changing.

and making contact, like here, with other artists and soulful friends.

hugs to you,
kelly

PG a bittersweet memory of the days with my artist mother as she sank deeper into dementia that robbed her of the artists touch ... always will be my inspiration as I gaze at the watercolors she painted..the quilts stitched by hand....hold on tight to your mom and those that inspire you..

Oh PG. I was not surprised to see your name under such a lovely post. It brought tears to my eyes....remembering my Dad with dementia...how he found such joy in viewing my photos and old photos. We all come back to the simplest of things that bring us happiness. If we could only find happiness throughout our live in those same things. You story inspires me to not let life take over and to take moments to enjoy the little things that we meet up with in our days.
