tomorrow is a beautiful new day

Here is the truth: Today I am feeling overwhelmed.

I am overwhelmed with too much to do.  But, everything I have to do, is what I love to do.  I am in the middle of a beautiful new project on gratitude.  I am painting every day.  I am having my website completely redone.  I am doing guest posts and a custom order.  I am just overwhelmed today.  I have moments of wondering what is wrong with me?  Shouldn't I just be grateful?  But, the truth is, I am grateful

Oh, my.  This is what I would like to say to me today.

Dear Me,

It's okay, honey.  Go to bed early with a cup of tea and an Oprah Magazine.  Tomorrow is a beautiful new day.

Love you,
Me

So, I am excusing myself from this day and following my own advice.  You will be reading this post on Wednesday, a beautiful new day, a day where I will tackle my To-Do list with reckless abandon, calm and clarity.  Yes

What do you do when you are feeling overwhelmed?  I would love to know!

Aw, I love the little letter to yourself. So sweet! I tend to take a nap when I'm overwhelmed. Just an hour of quieting the mind can completely rejuvenate it for me.

I usually tell my family I need a time out. I go into the bathroom and have a almond honey bath, glass of wine, and turn on some music to muffle the correcting of behaviors in the other room!

I am struggling with the same things and I hope you find your balance.

Ps. The painting is lovely.

love the little letter. I usually take some time out, walk alone, read "Clear Your Clutter With Feng Shui" and began to de-clutter my home :-) lovely greetings

Oh de-cluttering is such a great idea! I feel better today because I got up early and de-cluttered my studio/office. Now I can breathe easier. I am just beginning to realize how much clutter effects my ability to cope! Thanks so much for comments :)

Escape into the world of books - that works for me! Love the colors in your painting.

what do i do?
surrender ...
take a deep breath ...
accept and then i do the 'chisel' action ...
chisel away ... a bit at a time at anything, anything at all to feel a teensy bit better and it usually entails picking up the clutter!
so glad you are feeling better today, lori ...
love your letter to you and that you are giving yourself the go ahead to accept 'days like this' ; )
i can hear your sweet bird singing a new song today!

I think writing a letter to yourself is a wonderful to say it's ok to have a down day. I search for inspiration on down days, a blog, a book, a quote, a beautiful photo...something, anything to uplift myself.

Due to a recent illness and extended recovery (with a couple of surgeries thrown in there), I've been incredibly overwhelmed as of late because I got behind in so many things. Last weekend I started forcing myself to look at One thing that needs to be done and doing it, once a day, instead of looking at All that needs to be done and not being able to do anything. It's working out well and I'm feeling accomplished instead of inadequate. I turn to things I love to soothe my soul. (Writing, reading, blogging, knitting, taking photo's). I accept my limitations and rest when I need to.

I'm pinning this note up to my mirror so I can see it at least twice a day.
