eddeeeee ... keesss me gudnight ...

a bouquet for you ~ a bit of late blooming heavenly sweetness

::

as time evolves, our realm of inspiration grows ...

from the moment we were a twinkle in our mother's eye ...

to this very moment right now ~ we have been inspired ...

we have been filled with the urge or the ability to do or feel something, especially to do something.

now, at this stage of life, we are completely conscious of who and what inspires us ...

(although, sometimes inspiration can sneak up at you in the most wonderful way : )

and we have choices about how to act upon that inspiration ...

how to let it possibly guide us in life changing ways.

hmmmmmmm

so what about when you were little ... really little ...

is there something or someone in your life that possibly inspired you to live like you do?

something or someone, that when you think of them, you get an indescribable warm glow deep within?

while i, like many of you, have had a lifelong, inspiring guide in nature, there is one specific thing that i realize more as time goes on, has influenced me strongly in how i live ...

it is a simple gift from my cousin when we were wee ...

this children's book ~

i love the meekness of the country mouse ... i love the boldness of the town mouse ... i love that they recognize who they are and that they can be happy in who they are ... how they accept how the other is living but are happy in their choices after experiencing the other's life ...

but, i especially love the simplicity of the country mouse life ... how she bakes her loaf of bread from the bits of flour ... gathers a few peas to make soup ... a few leafs of lettuce for her salad ... nourishing and nurturing ... and all in her very simple little 'home sweet home' ...

she was very, very happy to be a country mouse.
me, too ...

i think i have taken steps all my life to live this way ~ how about you?
is there someone or something from your childhood that has inspired how you live?

xoxo

I am also a country mouse, I love it that way, I need my space. Although I wonder sometimes what life would have been like in "town."
Books have always been my biggest inspiration I think, books and words and the lives you get to peek into when someone tells a story. Trees, and my garden, I love being outside.

(And it was indeed, a very good show!)

Oh - what a fun post. I've spent a good chunk of the day thinking back. Number one influence is family, I'm am so lucky to be blessed with an amazing one. But your talk of your childhood book reminded me of one that impacted my life:

The Pokey Little Puppy

Like the Pokey Little Puppy, I find I have an insatiable curiosity about the world around me and I have to explore - even when my family would like me to stay at home. I just can't stand missing out on something out there!

when i was younger, especially in my later childhood years when i was really searching for who i wanted to be...

i was extremely blessed to have a very amazing and wonderful auntie in my life who was a guiding light and a kindred spirit.

she showed me that to go gently, and speak kindly, was the greatest gift you could give to the world.

her beauty and kindness are infectious and her positive way of looking at the world rubs off on everyone she meets.

i am so lucky to have someone like this in my life, to look up to, to respect, and to be inspired by, every day!

anyone wanna guess who this lovely lady is? :)
